Insulation from the inside (under-roof)

When?

  • Roof in good condition

  • No roof renovation planned

  • Easy access to the attic

  • Ideal for sloped roofs (tiles, slates)

How?

We place the insulationbetweenandunder the rafters, then we add a vapour barrier and an interior finish.

Advantages:

  • The most economical solution

  • Quick installation

  • Very good thermal performance

Limitations:

  • Slightly reduces the space under the roof

  • Does not correct thermal bridges in the framework

Insulation from the outside (Sarking)

When?

  • Complete roof renovation

  • Roof covering to be replaced (tiles, slates)

  • Looking for premium insulation

  • House with exposed rafters or aesthetic needs

How?

Insulating panels are placedabovethe rafters, before the installation of the covering (tiles, slates…).

Advantages:

  • Eliminates 100% of thermal bridges

  • Preserves the interior volume

Limitations:

  • Higher cost

  • Requires removal of the existing covering
